About Frederick A Moore

Dr. Frederick Moore is a professor. His clinical interests focus on acute care surgery, emergency surgery, surgical critical care, trauma surgery and sepsis. His research interests include translational efforts related to multiple organ failure, inflammatory response after trauma, and nutrition and the immune system.

Before joining UF in 2011, he led the division of surgical critical care and acute care surgery at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, and was a professor of surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College.

He completed his general surgery training at the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver and earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

In 2011, the Society of Critical Care Medicine selected Moore as a Master Critical Care Medicine.

Research Profile

Dr. Moore is the principal investigator for an NIH-funded P50 center grant for the UF Sepsis and Critical Illness Research Center to study the persistent inflammation, immunosuppression and catabolism syndrome (PICS) following sepsis in surgical intensive care unit patients.
